HOW YOU CAN HELP

GIVING GUIDE

Message from COTA President Rick Lofgren

Dear Friend,

As we prepare to step into the holiday season, I am truly grateful for the generous support provided by thousands of volunteers and contributors … supporters we at the Children’s Organ Transplant Association call Miracle Makers because they provide hope and help make miracles for our transplant families.

Giving Hope … Making Miracles. At COTA, this is the guiding vision that directs our daily work with transplant-needy families. To demonstrate how COTA’s Miracle Makers help to give hope and make miracles, please allow me to share with you an excerpt of a letter written by the father of two of our transplant children:

“It is one thing to know about the power of prayer and to believe in miracles, but it’s another thing entirely to experience medical miracles with the added support of numerous prayers. Our boys are two walking miracles. Without their transplants they would not be here today.”

Martin Saunders, Father of Brayden and Trevin

What a pleasure it is when I read a note from a parent who is able to celebrate another Thanksgiving with his boys -- thanks to friends, volunteers, professionals, and Miracle Makers like you who allow COTA to continue developing, and offering, our families an array of products and services. During the past 23 years, COTA has assisted more than 1,400 patients and has helped raise nearly $55 million for their transplant-related expenses. With your help, COTA will continue to make a significant difference in the lives of transplant patients, like Brayden and Trevin Saunders, who are two of our 2009 calendar kids.

COTA is committed to making this journey with each of our families -- families who desperately need hope … and who sometimes receive a miracle. Thanks for choosing to make the journey with COTA, with our patients and with their families. Your ongoing support is truly life-saving!

Happy Thanksgiving,

COTA
