Message from COTA President Rick Lofgren

Dear Friend,

Fall is my favorite time of the year; I love the crisp days and nights, football tailgating, and the beautiful colors of the leaves on trees here in Indiana. Each time I glance out my window, I am reminded of nature’s beauty and the small blessings we enjoy each day. Thank you for your ongoing support to help ensure that children and young adults receive a second chance at life -- and a chance to enjoy a beautiful fall day.

I hope your outlook during this colorful season is like ours here at the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) as we meet, and welcome, new patients, families, volunteers and supporters to COTA’s family. You have likely heard, or read, that COTA is Giving Hope … Making Miracles. For us, it is not just a slogan -- it is how our team of staff and volunteers operates each day. Please allow me to share a true miracle story with you from a COTA family:

“COTA made it possible for my family to not to worry so much about money, and that took a lot of pressure off our shoulders. It’s a great gift of hope to know that if you need money or support at a moment’s notice, COTA is there.”

Anitra Walker, Mother of Josef

My thanks goes out to each of COTA’s Miracle Makers who have helped us give hope and make miracles in all corners of this country. Miracle Makers truly are at the heart of the work COTA does on behalf of transplant families who need the support we receive from friends, transplant professionals and volunteers like you.

As our transplant families face daily trials and emotional turmoil, it is heartwarming to read messages like the one from COTA mom, Anitra Walker, thanks to Miracle Makers like you. The hope you provide helps to make miracles for those families who are unable to help themselves.

Thank you,

COTA
