Message from COTA President Rick Lofgren
Dear Friend,
Giving Hope and Making Miracles ... it is not just a slogan, but it is how we operate each day here at the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA). To demonstrate how this happens, please allow me to share with you an excerpt of a letter from a parent of a COTA heart transplant recipient:
This is once again the time of year when co-pays and deductibles haven’t been
met -- so this reimbursement request is quite a bit larger than normal. My wife and I were saying as we were preparing this expense report, ‘Can you imagine where we would be if we hadn’t done fundraising with COTA?’ We know that we wouldn’t be in our house right now -- I really don’t know where we would be.
I don’t mean to get dramatic, but having this money set aside for Lindsey’s medical expenses has been a true Godsend. And of course, we couldn’t get very
far without also thanking you ... Your help has been very much appreciated over the years.

What a pleasure it is to read notes like the one above from a parent who is able to enjoy milestones in his daughter’s life -- thanks to friends and transplant professionals like you. Here at the Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA), your contributions are making a difference in the lives of patients, just like Lindsey who is noted above. In the past
22 years, we have assisted more than 1,300 patients, and have helped raise more than $48 million for transplant-related expenses.
COTA is committed to making this journey with each of our families -- families who desperately need hope ... and who sometimes receive a miracle.
Thanks for choosing to make the journey with COTA, with our patients, and with their families. Your support is truly life-saving.

Rick Lofgren, CFRE
President
Children’s Organ Transplant Association
